U2 - CALIFORNIA - there is no end to love
U2 - CALIFORNIA - there is no end to love
Let's see more about this song in this post.
The red text refers to the song lyrics.
The blue colour text are refer to the hyperlink.
I went to the UK on a student visa in August 2008. In 2009, due to financial difficulties, I interrupted my studies and went to work full-time at an off-licence store, Bargian buy's, 1 Regent St, Wellingborough NN8 4DW. When I started working there, I fell in love with a girl in Polikandi, Sri Lanka.
Never met the girl in person. She was introduced by a friend to get a UK visa. She and I broke up at the end of 2014 after almost 6 years of intense love.
The break up was taken unilaterally by her when I worked at BP petrol station, Little London, Spalding PE11 2UA.
This song was performed then.
The girl I fell in love with unilaterally refuses to pick up my mobile calls. Many times, I tried to call her and her friends and relatives but everyone refused to pick up the call.
It seems clear to me that this is a one-sided breakup. This is happening for the first time after 6 years of intense love.
I couldn't stand that break-up at all. I Didn't expect it. It is indescribable. I am Hindu by birth. She is a Christian woman. As my father is also a Christian, I converted to Roman Catholicism a few years ago after being baptized in the name of her wish. I had memorized Some Roman Catholic prayers. and I kept some as pocket-size books.
I couldn't stand her refusal to take my call. so, when I going to work and coming from work I was stopping halfway between home and work place and praying those Catholic prayers to Father and Santa.
At the end of every prayer, I would try to call her. My mind was racing for her to take my call. That's the beginning of this song in Tamil language "Abba Papara Santa Papara". the song in English, but beginning lyrics start with Tamil "abba papara santa papara" it mean Will Father God see? Will Santa see?
The following events have been sung by Father Jesus Christ to reveal His coming to me.
Later I came to know that he is also himself God Lord Shiva. It performed (the first to possess me) when he came invisible in the form of a torch.
California then we fell into the shiny sea
The phrase California is false. It could have been added by the U2 songwriting team.
Because it all happened in Little London, Spalding, UK.
The word California that appears throughout the song refers to the place where it happened, Little London, Spalding, UK.
Then we fell into the shiny sea
The line means that my body, which had lost my light (aura) till then, got light (aura) and was possessed by God after the arrival of God.
I realized that very clearly. I could see and feel that my body and face were all lit up. And transformed.
The verse "We" stands for the punk rock party.
The weight that drags your heart down
A heavy sorrow presses upon thy (Janahan) heart.
Well, that's what took me where I need to be
That's good, that's what led me (God) to where my needy person (janahan) is.
Which is here out on Zuma
It could have been added by the U2 songwriting team.
Watching you cry like a baby.
I (God) noticed you (Janagan) crying like a child.
California at the dawn you thought would never come, but it did.
The word California that appears throughout the song refers to the place where it happened, Little London, Spalding, UK.
In the morning you (Janahan) thought that I (God) would not come. But it happened (Father God came)
Like it always does.
As God always sees those who repent and pray sincerely.
All I know and all I need to know
I (God) knew everything and needed to know.
There is no end to love.
Because There was no end to love. That means the love I (Jahan) had for her was boundless. That's why I (God) need to know everything. (to solve the problems)
I didn't call you.
This is an incident. In the BP petrol station where I worked, three men entered the store one after the other from the same vehicle and, after buying some items, came to my counter to pay. They looked like English guys or European guys.
They came to me at a certain interval. and all three men asked me, 'All right, pal?'
What's different was that even though the three men came a short time apart, they all asked me the same question; 'all right, pal?'
Customers in the UK, when they pay cash at the counter, commonly often ask the cashier"Alright, mate?, Are you ok?". Rarely they ask"All right pal?".
I was disappointed when All three men from the same vehicle asked me the same question: "All right pal?". Because I belong the to Pallar caste in Jaffna. In the srilankan tamil community The cast name Pallar is also spelt Pal for short.
Unlike usual All three men asked me the same question "All right, pal?". And the way they pronounced it, it was like teasing my caste. I couldn't contain my stress.
At that time I was suffering from a love breakup. So I had sought the help of a friend of ours named Gyanethran who studied with me. When I was talking to him, I did not tell him what happened in the shop, but I told him in anger that the white man calls me "Pallan" when I come by bicycle on the road. Because it was easier for me than explaining to him what happened inside the shop. That is what is mentioned in that song as I (God) didn't call you (Janahan). It not only means God says he didn't call me Pallan. Also, It means God hate the caste system within the same ethnicities. Only in the light World. (not in the haircut world)
Words can scare a thought away.
I was constantly talking with my (Janakan) friend Gnanethran during the division. I was furious with her and asked my friend to cut her off.
My friend who saw me cry day and night was ready for it. Then I withdrew completely so as not to lose my temper and change my mind. That was mentioned as Words can scare a thought away.
Everyone's a star in our town
One of my (Janahan) colleagues who stayed with me talked to me indirectly without directly telling me that someone was coming to see me. I (Janahan) understood that too. A lady had come to the shop wearing a monkey cap on her head. I (Janahan) understood that she was the person my colleague said.
She like a regular customer bought some things. I (Janahan) don't remember exactly what it was. And she paid the money and left. She must be a star. She must be a porn film actress. This is just my (Janahan) guess.
It's just your light gets dimmer if you have to stay.
As I (Janahan) was working the night shift, I (Janahan) had to sleep during the day. Daytime sunlight fills the room through the back side window of my room. There is no window curtain for that window. I (Janahan) usually cover the window with a bedsheet every day when I go to sleep. I (Janahan)Had to hide the window.
In your bedroom, in a mirror watching yourself cry like a baby.
There was a mirror in my (Janahan) bedroom. Because of love division I (Janahan) used to cry during those days. I (Janahan) looked in the mirror myself.
California, blood orange sunset brings you to your knees.
The word California that appears throughout the song refers to the place where it happened, Little London, Spalding, UK.
In those days I (Janahan) used my pocket size prayer book and used to pray a big prayer kneeling on my knees. because of the big prayer my (Janahan) knee got red and pain.
I've seen for myself. There's no end to Grief.
I have seen (God) myself. There is no end to deep sorrow. Here he (God) also mentions mental pain.
That's how I know
That's how I (God) knew. that's how I (God) found out you (Janahan).
And why I need to know There is no end to love.
The reason I (God) had to see out everything about you (Janahan) and all those problems was You (Janahan ) had endless love with her.
ancient
(God) Here ancient who the one exists from ancient times.
Also old is different and Ancient is different.
We come and go
The word We is used to refer to a punk rock party. It can be seen in many other 'U2 songs of Innocent's album songs that the word "we" was used to refer to a punk rock party. For example in the U2's white van song, the lyrics "we raised by wolf stonger than Fear" is refer to their opposite party punk rock party.
It means God came from the light side (punk). Not for a haircut.
But, stolen days you don't give back.
It means that I (God) had to see everything because you (man) had endless love. You (Janahan) had no honesty, and the days wasted without that honesty were not repaid.
Those days must be repaid. Later my door opened after I (Janahan) paid those days back for the last 7 years. This is If the door is open it isn't theft. Mentioned in U2's song Cedarwood Road.
Stolen days are just enough.
Finally, God told me (Janahan) that the love would not continue because I (Janahan) lacked honesty.
